For the sixth year in a row, investment research firm Morningstar® added several American Funds to its list of standout mutual funds in its universe. Of the 43 funds chosen from a universe of roughly 8,000 eligible funds, 13 were American Funds. Funds were selected based on meeting or exceeding Morningstars strict quantitative requirements.
Expenses in the lowest quintile for the category
A Morningstar analyst rating of bronze or higher
Results exceeding the funds benchmark through the longest manager tenure
A risk level below Morningstars High category
A manager with at least five years fund experience
At least one manager with $1 million invested in the fund
Availability not limited to institutional investors
